“… For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day”. ~ Psalm 25:5, NKJV
What beautiful words from King David. In today’s fast paced world, patience seems to be a lost virtue. Most of us even stay away from praying for patience, for we know that God then begins giving us situations where it is considerably tested.
Time and again in scripture, we see how important it is to wait upon the Lord. The great Prophet Isaiah tells us that it renews our strength, and that we are blessed when we wait for Him.
Do you spend your days in a state of hurriedness to hear from the Lord? Do you tend to press or rush God into answering your prayer(s) or to move on your behalf? This may indeed cause feelings of anxiousness or unnecessary stress. King David understood that God is not a God limited to or moved by time. Slow down and embrace the promises He has for you by waiting upon the Lord – even if it takes “all the day” long. You may just find that this is all He desires from you in order for you to receive the answers to prayer you have been seeking.
